This is a hotfix release on top of iText for .NET 7.0.2; they are functionally identical, except that the following blocking issue was fixed: ASP.NET users reported the following sequence of fatal exceptions when using iText for .NET 7.0.2 in their web applications: System.TypeInitializationException: The type initializer for 'iText.IO.Util.ResourceUtil' threw an exception. System.NotSupportedException: The invoked member is not supported in a dynamic assembly. The cause of this was a functional change in 7.0.2 to allow loading of certain resources in dependencies, but this change did not...

pdfHTML: A brief introduction Register for our webinar on March 22nd for an in depth intro with some of iText's developers. Introduction pdfHTML is an iText 7 add-on that will replace our previous XML Worker, from iText 5. This add-on gives you the ability to transform HTML and CSS content into a PDF document. The PDF Days Conference is quickly approaching, held in Berlin May 15-16. At the conference, the PDF Association will host talks about PDF Specification updates and reveal some seriously big news. Although, we don't know everything, we do know that the big reveal for this year's PDF Days will be BIG. The super secret project is code named "next-generation PDF”. Easily the most exciting (and radical!) development in PDF technology for years, next-generation PDF marries core PDF capabilities to the flexibility of web technologies. The development of this technology is ongoing, and actively supported by many members of the PDF Association, including iText. The real name, purpose and status of “next-generation PDF” will be revealed in the initial Keynote session and subsequent dedicated track at PDF Days 2017
Last week there was a huge buzz surrounding SHA-1. The hashing algorithm has been deemed unsafe for many years, but is still used in outdated software for digital signatures. Recently a team of researchers was able to break SHA-1, proving definitively that the algorithim should be replaced . The attack was orchestrated on a PDF file that contained an image, which they exploited to generate a collision. A collision can be quite scary as it allows an attacker to generate two files that have the same digest value. If a victim was to sign one of these files using SHA-1, the signed digest would be...
